About James Vincent

Mr. Vincent practiced immigration law for 10 years as Assistant Chief Counsel for the United States Immigration and Custom Enforcement and the Immigration and Naturalization Service in Dallas, Texas.  He represented the government as a Federal Prosecutor in Federal Immigration Court and was successful with a high winning ratio against outside counsel due to his extensive knowledge of the complex immigration laws and the complicated litigation process. In addition:

 

  • His immigration practice of law serves New Mexico, Colorado and throughout the nation.  He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

     

  • He received his Juris Doctor in Law from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and is admitted to the Iowa Bar and the Texas Bar.  He has been admitted to the United States District Court for the Southern and Northern Districts of Iowa, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and the United States District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Texas.  He represents clients in Immigration Court, before the BIA and Federal Courts. He is licensed by the Texas Supreme Court.

     

  • He serves as a volunteer attorney for Catholic Charities of Santa Fe, Somos Un Pueblo Unito in Santa Fe, and El Centro de Igualdad y Derechos in Albuquerque.

     

  • He was a speaker at the New Mexico Bar Association Meeting on immigration law and has been featured in news articles.  He has testified as an expert witness in Immigration Law.
